When to use blind pockets?

If you are at the building stage or at the renovation stage, where pockets to conceal the blinds can still be factored into the build, then we have a really smart solution. These blind pockets are manufactured by Blindspace in aluminium and are made to measure to provide that minimalist look as all the electrics and workings of the blind are hidden. We are happy to work with your architect or builder to provide them with instruction on how best to install these blind pockets.

What factors do I consider for window pockets?

In most cases you will be looking to insert a blind pocket in the ceiling and can choose whether the blind gap is towards the window or the room. Window handles often play a part in the decision but, in general, blinds should be installed as close to the window as one can. If you are looking for the ultimate in blackout for a bedroom or cinema room then you should consider a side and/or bottom box.

If you are looking for privacy then top down/bottom up honeycomb blinds can be an option. Note you are paying for 2 motors or just have a bottom up blind. Side channels are also a possible addition if you want to conceal any wiring.

What factors do I consider for door pockets?

Bi-fold and sliding doors are becoming ever more popular as we look to bring the outside in. These drop on these blinds tends to be longer and the width of the blinds wider than standard window blinds. Being able to hide the wiring and the larger tubes the blinds are rolled on makes these door pockets ideal. If you are looking for blinds for corner bi-folds or by-pass doors then you can chose whether your blind pockets overlap or are mitred.

What factors do I consider with roof pockets?

When concealing your skylight blinds you should decide whether to conceal them within or under the load bearing structure that holds the skylight. In most cases the actual installation consists of deeper boxes at the narrow ends which conceal the motors and the narrower boxes for the side channels hiding wires, zips and tensioning hardware.
